Singhasan Haveli was built in 18th century. Goenka
Haveli is a traditional haveli with exquisite painted
frescos on its walls, ceilings and courtyard. It
belonged to the Marwari merchant who was awarded the
title "Raj Bahadur". It is located at the main Fatehpur
road in Mandawa a famous for its havelis.
Havelis in this part of the world denoted the social and
financial status of the Marwari merchants. Two to three
storeys of rooms with jharokas, galleries and painted
walls were built around the inner courtyard. The design
of the traditional architecture equipped the building to
give the benefits of seasonal climatic conditions and
brave the harsh summer heat.
Frescos in all shades of earthen colors give the
courtyard and the walls portray mythological as well as
local legends, Hunting scenes, portraits and depictions
of everyday life.
